Well, they really got the scoop this time,
But the headlines came undone,
Too bad they didn't wait to see,
If Bush or Gore had won....
Now I've got a paper,
With a story that is wrong,
What was the editor thinking,
Making the banner so long.
I paid 50 cents for the words,
That weren't even true,
Why did they think that they were right,
When no one else had a clue.
But they had to have a headline,
So they had to make a choice,
Guess they didn't want to hear,
Florida's electoral voice.
So I'll wrap the paper in tissue,
And put it up in the attic to store,
Maybe when it's found up there,
We'll know if it's Bush or Gore.

Hey that paper may be worth more than 50 cents. Of course if the headline proves correct the editor will just say I knew all along who would win. Good Poem

you should be covering this event, you have it down better than the reporters...good job.

A great poem. You have successfully informed me on what's going on! hehe

Yeah, really. I can't believe the insanity of this...Florida closed the voting booths too soon, Bush wants a recount for Wisconsin, and last I heard everyone in Oregon does their votes by mail.

All I can say is I HOPE BUSH WINS!!!!

Bonnie~
If the paper's headlines prove to be correct -
they'll claim a scoop !
But if NOT ... you've got a collector's item for sure.
Delightful lady !
