Dance Our Lives Away.

Dancing with you in the moonlight
under a canopy of velvet sky,
the shimmer of angels’ candles
the only light from on high.
I feel your arms around me,
revel in the warmth of your embrace.
I drink in every feature, every line,
written on your time worn face.
In the shadows I see a boy,
the one you used to be,
from a time so long ago when
you first gave your love to me.
Blurred by the haze of time
an old couple dance across my sight
My face, in the mirror of age, smiles,
then disappears into the night.
As I feel the music fading
and the night slowly turns to day
I whisper, “It’s my heartfelt dream
to dance our lives away.”

I wish you every happiness and pray you'll always have the best of the good things in life. a brand

SEA - this is so odd, I was reading "Never Meant To Be" while you were reading my poem. I'm glad it touched your heart.

Victoria - I wrote this to show my husband just a little of what he means to me. I'm glad you liked it.

Marge - Hubby usually says he "doesn't understand poetry anyway" but I'm sure he will love it, as you say it's about him!
Glad you enjoyed it.

Tracie - Thanks for you comments, it does my poets heart good when others enjoy what I write.

Dee, I think your poets heart must be feeling very good at the moment for many enjoy your work. I ditto Balladeer's comments, but then I also have to agree with Marge too.
