The North Wind

The north wind has struck again
Imprisoned my soul to hold
With icicles that bar the den
Frozen by a blast of cold.

It chills  me without remorse
Iced me to the very bone
Blew the sun, way off its course
Left me blue and all alone.

It drains desire out of me
Like a women's nip of scorn
To sorrow me with ennui
To wish that I was never born.

The north wind has opened its door
To a whirlwind of deadly ire
And all I hear is raging roar
That burns me with its icy fire.

Changing summers gold lame
By powers of dominion
To diamond snow flakes souffle
And I am cold beyond opinion.

Dear love come melt this icy bowl
And bring the sun to warm my soul.

Winter's coming...I liked the last two lines, Seymour. Love can keep us warm through a lot. Well done.

Now I know why I've lost my sense of direction, I've not been on course for a few weeks now! Glad to know your posting signs along the way, Sy!

I'll build you a fire to warm your toes
I'll brew some tea(raspberry)to warm your nose
I'll knit you a sweater to warm your shoulders
I'll throw a log on the fire as the wind blows colder

Let that old wind blow and ring those chimes
we'll sit by the fire and pen summertime rhymes

I always look for winter poems - and yours made my hair stand up on end - a really unusual happening for hair that modestly covers my derriere - well, actually, it didn't all stand on end, but I could feel every hair on my head raising - such feeling!  Such a story!  Well worded, and excellent!  Thanks for sharing!
