Listening to every heart

Lonesome of the Heart

‘tis nothing at all
akin to fairness
this lonesome of the heart
sharp sting, vague ache
this heart it breaks
still beats therein
this lonesome of the heart

all around you
love resplendent lies
still sunshine comes
from hie the skies
the birds they sing
twittering merrily
like an old song
now a lost rhapsody

faint is the call
of violin’s play
down long hall
this lonesome of the heart
pensive yearning
no one’s learning
from this, this
lonesome of the heart

‘twill never be better
as there is no other end
‘tis forlorn it is, my friend
this lonesome of the heart

so I will wait
so you won’t know
in winter’s gale we shall
take a walk
while we silently talk
the bitter frozen air
my tears shall meet
and match my soul’s sigh
you won’t see it

‘tis nothing at all
akin to fair
this lonesome of the heart
vague stinging ache
breaks heart rare
but still will beat therein
in the lonesome of the heart

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, then speak loudly and be bound.

Kari, this is one beautiful achy breaky heart poem, and I love it. Utterly wonderful, you've written this so well. Excelled your usual excellance, marvellous.
Oh and I love it, you can tell I know. (There's no fooling you is there, sharp as a tack   )

Marge, you know the sound that a violin makes when it tugs just so on your heart and you tense at the feel?...someday, I'm going to capture that very feeling in word...just for you...

EagleOne, where HAVE you been!?  So GLAD to see you, and so very happy to know that you felt this as I have...thank you!

Sunshine, I am surprised this one has not been viewed more times though I confess I've read it twice already so here I am with an overdue reply post...

It's lovely just like you

I could cry, so sad and so exactly how I feel, is your poem.

"tis nothing at all
akin to fair
this lonesome of the heart"

You express this feeling perfectly.

If I could - I'd capture those frozen tears in a vial- and keep them safe - to give you on that day - and it will be soon - for i'm a believer -when I can return them to you with a bouquet in celebration of a new-found love - returned to you  a hundred fold as you walk that aisle melting the candles with your smile.
