I wished the world were set to slow
Like with our hands, when we let go
The pyramids should be for never
To crumble and dissipate
Eternal and then forever
Our love would precipitate
Slowly as a heartache’s numbing
I would like to see it coming
Your heart like the fall of rain
I want to feel the pitter-patter
When both are shouting in my brain
Only love really matters
Only love can heal the pain

I couldn’t keep my eyes from falling
As I wished the world to slow
Everything crashed and fell for me
And I was the first to ever know
A pulse was found rhythmic beating
As we all were cooed to sleep
The signs that flashed were repeating
Love doesn’t ever come by cheap
So I woke and read my watch
And seethed at my delay
A heart is falling like raindrop dew
And I’m wishing my life away

Pyramids crumble and then rebuilt
Flowers come back once they wilt
Forever, the gulp of a seagulls beak
All my joy lay upon your cheek
And there in little slowing sips
As life is given from your lips
I feel the pitter-patter
The quietness
The shouting
Did lightning strike when we kissed
My watch has stopped I got my wish!

Walty, I like this my friend, especially this......

Pyramids crumble and then rebuilt
Flowers come back once they wilt
Forever, the gulp of a seagulls beak
All my joy lay upon your cheek
And there in little slowing sips
As life is given from your lips
I feel the pitter-patter
The quietness
The shouting
Did lightning strike when we kissed
My watch has stopped I got my wish!

some great thoughts!

This is unusual, but tender nontheless.

All my joy lay upon your cheek
And there in little slowing sips
As life is given from your lips
I feel the pitter-patter
The quietness
The shouting
Did lightning strike when we kissed
My watch has stopped I got my wish!

Very touching my friend!

Walt your poetry continues to grow in leaps and bounds...This is an incredible piece, and I continue to read you and be amazed. Your poetry is like a box of chocolates---grin--you're never quite sure what you're going to get! But it's ALL GOOD.
