Rolling Away
~*Marge Tindal*~

I reached for your memory last night
and it rolled away from me
In giant steps I chased after it
looking down corridors of familiarity
only to find that in it's hasty retreat
it had left no footprints

There were times I tried to chase it away
and it would not go
Now ... now when I feel the need
to revisit the love we shared
I can't find a trace of you anywhere

I looked for the tears
that I cried and left puddled on the pillow
It seems that I can no longer find them to wallow in

I turn to leave and run smack into
a remembering wall of you
Suddenly I am crying them again
and it hurts as much
as when you left
the first time

*For those who need to know
you are not alone in your feelings*

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

'tis indeed a classic line...
"I turn to leave and run smack into a remembering wall of you"
excellent poem.

clearly one of the most visual, emotionally charged pieces you have placed here at passions...

it is truly a gift to see this genre of poety and images from you....

free verse blends with you, marge, and the imagery you've chosen is very well done. thank you for this read

Marge*
Not sure who needed this one tonight but I'm
sure you will find that it touches many more
than just who it was intended for...but you
knew that didn't you...Seems the harder we
push those memories the steeper the hill gets
and the harder we look for them the darker
the night gets...*sigh* ((hugs))

Marge, Sentimental journeys! So sorry yours was sad. (Written so well, but that's allways).  you cry, we cry, don't cry.

Those darn walls just seem to pop up at the most inappropriate times, do they not?  Lovely heart you have my friend.  So do you want to climb a few trees with a cowboy instead of scaling walls today?
