Only the fiercest eyes of love
would kneel in prayer for finding thee
Only the softest fleeting dove
could hold the praise I would give so free

For weakness in body and spirit
came when I first saw your face
Twas an image of true worth and spirit
and I gasped, dreaming of your embrace

To all the fates in all the lands
I bow in honor, hopefully
to gaze upon the sweetest hands
for surely heaven has smiled on me

Your smile, and the touch of caress
drew my eyes to you seemingly so
I knelt down and prayed in earnest
that my heart, one day you would know.

Highlander, hello and please let me welcome you to Passions. I haven't "been" here very long either, but I am certain that you will find a great deal of support and encouragement for your writing, which, by the way, is lovely. Your poem is striking, and I thank you for sharing it.
