To Be is to Become

I do feel, and i do see
that to be here-that to be,
to be is always yet to become,
I feel: there for i am

An angel hovers by my soul,
plays her harp- plays it well,
and her music is my liveliehood
making feelings, making mood

She whispers of how my gaud gleams
that sleep forever will find dreams
under that star, and all the light
of heaven's love shining bright

And so do i have an art gallery
of lives i've lived already.
Of attempts toward a masterpeice
and never does her music cease

But it changes, yes, she changes me
by a new sweet-fingered melody

"...no single sound too rude
Upon thy slumber shall intrude,
Our thoughts, our souls- O God above!
In every deed shall mingle, love."
--Edgar Allan Poe (from Serenade)

Oh, isn't it so!! we can take the gloomest attitude into a read and find ourselves laughing or being touched by someone from a single poem.  Loved this one much.  Marcy

Poet deVine - Sorry its sort of a weird poem.  I sort of meant philosphy is in feelings because feelings rule thoughts don't they?  And i sort of was saying that i don't beleive things really die at all but just change. Hope its less a conundrum now.

Alle'cram -Thankyou. Glad you liked the read

Do we think before we feel?
Or do we feel before we think?
Or. . . do we think and feel at the same time?

These and other questions are raised here. . . excellent writing. . .

Sven - glad you liked the poem.  I was just saying that i think that change is forever and were always within that becoming in what we feel.  Thoughts just follow running after feelings but never catch up to what we really are before were becoming something else.

I believe, and this is simply my opinion, that we are all masterpieces and I loved that line in this one!

over the rain-green grass,
and the sun drips honey.""
