Adrift upon the memories, of a Mississippi dream,
Rememberance of times gone by, of antebellum grace,
As Delta Queen forever sails, in glow of Luna's beam.

Stokers shovel coal below, sweating up a steam,
Heading down to Natchez, trailhead of the Trace,
Adrift upon the memories, of a Mississippi dream.

Off the bow, there's Huck and Jim, small raft in current's stream,
Below the bluffs of Vicksburg, as from their past they race,
As Delta Queen forever sails, in glow of Luna's beam.

Soft rippling of the current, beneath night's welkin gleam,
Captain in the pilothouse, unseen dangers soon to face,
Adrift upon the memories, of a Mississippi dream.

Marking twain with knotted rope, forever heads downstream,
King Cotton's piled upon ship's deck, New Orleans it's resting place,
As Delta Queen forever sails, in glow of Luna's beam.

Sailing to tranquility, amid "Big Muddy's" stream,
Beneath the beacon of Polaris, encased in past's embrace,
Adrift upon the memories, of a Mississippi dream,
As Delta Queen forever sails, in glow of Luna's beam.
