"November Night"

Sleep eludes me on this November night
As the pain in my heart, I try to fight
The tears on my pillow make a soft sound
Rain comes gently from the sky as it touches dry parched ground

Missing you so much, I reach across the bed
You should be laying there, but empty space instead
The ache inside me, slowly driving me insane
The rain matches my tears as it hits the window pane

Night cold air slips into my tired bones
As my soul full of agony restlessly roams
A silouette of your face meanly dances on the wall
My heart cries out to you, urgently it does call

I rise out of bed to look at the starlit sky
For the millionth time I question the reason why
Why are you there and I am here, when it should not be
Your love released my soul, it set my heart free

All hope in me is almost lost, as another night passes by
I finally dry my eyes, no tears left to cry
Black of night, cold fear grabs a hold of my heart
It threatens to tear my soul completely apart

My arms reach out for you again, but all I find is empty air
I honestly don't know how much more I can bear
They say butterflies are meant to be free, maybe angels are too
Much as I don't want to release you, perhaps it's the right thing to do

All I know is I have never loved this much
I've never craved another's touch
Memories play on inside my head, serving to remind
In you the greatest love of my life, I did find

Night ends and turns into morning, the dawning of a new day
Was hoping for sunshine and rainbows, but all I see is gray
Stumble to the coffee pot, and think of this love so true
And only three words come to mind...I love you.

Hey, Aim!  How'd this get by without a response!  This is absolutely beautiful!  Wonderful write, my friend!!
And, just hold on there and don't give up!  Time is a killer, I know this first hand, but, eventually, it will pass! (I should take my own advice, huh?)

Amy this is another of your hearts poems and it is as pure as love itself. Oh I know this feeling, your special someone not by your side. The pain as all you want is one small touch, still imagine the reunion, so much delight. This is such a poem full of your feelings, a very wonderful write, well done. I love this one too.
Take care

Amy a wonderful poem: -

'Black of night, cold fear grabs a hold of my heart
It threatens to tear my soul completely apart'

I've been there; but it was my own doing - nevertheless, the 'cold fear still grabs'

Cheers

This poem is so full of feelings. I look over to my love one as he sleeps and pray I never have to feel what you are feeling tonight.

Amy,

Such sadness in your words today.  I hope that all is well and that time eases your pain.  Sometimes we have to let go to see if love is truly ours.  I pray that yours comes back to you, my friend.

These lines were excellent . . .
All hope in me is almost lost, as another night passes by
I finally dry my eyes, no tears left to cry
Black of night, cold fear grabs a hold of my heart
It threatens to tear my soul completely apart

Oh Amy,
So much sadness here, please remember to take it easy. You have many people here at passions that are very good listeners.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

I could feel such passion in your writing.  To share your hurt is so important.  Keep your chin up.  You are a wonderful writer.
I look forward to reading many more of your writings.  God bless you.  Roger
