Kill a bug
Roll a ball
Wait for lovers
Who don't call.
Trap a mouse
Sink a putt
Tell the world
To kiss my butt
Watch tv
When I'm bored
Think of things
Left unexplored
Write some verse
Here and there
Read tags on
My underwear
Pick a stock
Lose some cash
Watch re-runs of
Cheers and Mash
Let my mind
Run away
Back to dreams of
Yesterday.
Feed the dog
Give a pat
Feed the goldfish
To my cat
Pass the mirror
Never look
Contemplate
The roads I took
Water flowers
Cut the grass
Wave to strangers
As they pass
Think of you
Here with me
Fly a kite
Climb a tree
Surf the net
Looking for
Who knows what
Lock the door
Boil an egg
Wash some socks
Kick a tin can
Throw some rocks
Cut my nails
With a knife
Here you have
My no-called life

Very entertaining, sounds like me. So many things to do, but I've never been so bored

words of Balladeer
No more sitting at home
Go play golf with poet SY
work on your tans
under Floridian sky
Invite him over
for a bite
fry up some Spam ...
cook it right
tell old tales
talk good old times
then write us some poems
filled with wisdom's rhymes
post them here ...
Ill read in bliss
then I ll reply ...

I had 6 years single 'tween marriages - there were days like that - but they were few - I trust the intrepid 'deer can write of the 'other' days with equal quality -
(but this was so much fun)

Yep, some days are a real bummer. I'm sure we have all experienced what you have expressed...and very well, I might add...from time to time. It will pass. In the meantime, come out and play with us!

Hail a cab
Take a bus
Book a flight
Don't make a fuss
Come on up
And you will see
How much fun
My mom can be
Cuz when you're sad
I could cry..
I'm pretty sure
She'll make Spam Pie

Loved it 'Deer...but don't be sad...ever
wonder how they can fit all that onto a tag
in your underwear???

GO OUT. Buy a lady a drink....shoot some pool or at least the shtuff...dive into the river baby!!! It's only rolling, not roiling.  Love and Hugs.

Here's a smile
From a friend
Just for you
I will send.

Here's a hug (((hug)))
For the days
That you feel
This a'way.

Here's a kiss (((smooches)))
For a deer
Don't you shed
Another tear.

Loved the poem and the style Michael,
hope things get better soon!

Best wishes,
/Kit

So that's your life?
It's so absurd!
But you forgot
To say a word,
Bout your pal
You bugged old turd,
I feel bad,
You left me out
Poor Toerag,
Guess I'll pout!

serenity....I have NO doubt that any time you skinny dip, there will be a very diligent lifeguard present!! Shoot pool?...I'll pass...but thanks for the suggestions

insect....Relax!! I don't kill cute bugs!

Christopher...sometimes we have to remember the re-memories.....thanks for dropping by.

kethry...sounds like a wonderful idea to me...with chocolate syrup ok?

Walt...impressive to see you can butcher languages bi-lingually! Thank you, old friend.

Kit...I will happily accept your smile, hug and kiss ANY DAY!!! Thank you

Toerag...What'd I do?
         Leave you out?
         How could I
         forget you, lout?
         I'll just step
         on a bug
         think about
         you, old lug.
         Never fear,
         My old pal,
         you will always
         bring a smile.

I've had those days where I just felt I was putting in my time waiting for the end. The only problem is those kind of days are coming more and more. Hope the new day brings you a better frame of mind.

Michael, i believe i've told you before that this is one poem which stood out for me as very special when i first "met" you at passions ... it's a really poignant, honest, look at how life can sometimes feel empty while overly full with the daily drudgeries we all experience... it's a sad poem... it touched me then, when i read it the first time (about 10 times, i think..lol) and it touches me even moreso now

it's interesting, though -- reading it now, i see so much more in it -- it's almost as if "repost" has become part of the title, because it seems like a retrospective view to me

but, hey, who am i to say? i'm not the author.... just a reader who's a little touched..

oh, and btw, i don't think "appropriate" belongs in the title, tho... *wink*, although sometimes it is appropriate to look back at where we've been and how far we've come, especially when things have gotten better in our lives

wow! i think i'm becoming philosophical today... geez... forgive me, please... and thank you for all you are and for all you share

oh, and one more thing... just noticed serenity's comment and your response... WHAT??? no POOL???? damn!!!shoot!! i even wrote a poem about shooting pool once, i like it so much... oh well...
