"Letting Go"
***to Brandy and Wendy***

I've had the two of you since I was just a small kid
We always had fun, no matter what we did
You two are the best dogs a girl could ever had
And letting you go makes my heart very sad

But you are old now and living in pain
You aren't young and free anymore, it just isnt the same
To keep you would be selfish, and not the right thing to do
So we must let you go, just know I love you

Some people think its dumb to care for pets, they just don't understand
You never ask for much, never do you demand
When I would cry, you'd be there to catch my tear
To lick my face, and say with your eyes have no fear

You are a part of our family, the oldest and wisest of the bunch
And I forgive you for everything, even stealing my lunch
Off to doggie heaven you will go, we will miss you both very much
And I thank God everyday for our lives you did touch

amys note:
this is to my dogs who we have to put down soon

Aimster, I understand this is a difficult time for you, and a hard decision to have to make. My thoughts and hugs are with you.

Amy, I'm sorry that your dogs have to be put down.   I don't have any of my own, but I don't think it's dumb at all that you care for them so much, because they become like added family members. ((((Hugs))))

Nothing dumb about this at all... they love you and you love them and yes, they do become a part of the family.  Hugs to you.
