I don't need a hundred scented candles burning,
for I can see your eyes in one single flames glow.
I don't need to read anymore poetry ...
for your rhymes of me ... told me all I ever need to know.

No longer do I need love songs ...
no need for the lyric or melody.
For the first time I heard your voice,
I heard angels sing and knew inner harmony.

I've no need for orange glow sunsets ...
no need for twilight skies streaked in violet hues.
No need for azure linen clouds of lace ...
all these things pale next to my need for you.

No longer do I wish on silvered diamond falling stars,
nor do I gaze at the neon moon so blue.
I don't search the indigo midnight sky ...
hoping to catch a glimpse of you.

I don't feel you in the rain's shimmering mist,
nor in the sun's golden fingers that bronze my skin.
None of nature's beauty can compare ...
to the place where I keep you deep with in.

You are the crystalline oceans that rise up inside of me,
together we lie on my soul's white beaches of sand.
You are the ivory tides that pull at my beings gravity,
the moment I touched infinite ... was the moment you touched my hand.

No longer do I need the things that mortal love brings ...
for I found completion when I saw my own reflection in your eyes.
And all the contentment I will ever need or hope to dream ...
will be found where you lie inside of me ... and on the wings of butterflies.

This is so lovely my friend and YOU do KNOW that I KNOW...hugs to you my dearest friend and please never quit writing wtih the golden feathered quill.  It serves you well.

I don't need to read anymore poetry ...
for your rhymes of me ... told me all I ever need to know.

sis that one line hits me hard and it says it all, his poems for you were so special, so love filled and heartwrencing,
and knowing how you eat live and breathe poetry as you do, for you to write that line,
it really touched me.

Jan this is one of the most beautiful poems i have ever read and i hope you know im not saying this cuz your my sister,
or cause im over here at your house on your computer haha
for-real, this is one of your best of him.
i live for the day someone prints all your poems of him so i can have them all together in a collection.

the moment I touched infinite ... was the moment you touched my hand.

No longer do I need the things that mortal love brings ...
for I found completion when I saw my own reflection in your eyes.
And all the contentment I will ever need or hope to dream ...
will be found where you lie inside of me ... and on the wings of butterflies.

those lines are so full of devante that its like hes here in the room
i think its gonna be a cry-sunday,
turn on the stereo and get out the kleenex
love you big seeeeestur

and no you cant have your computer back yet im just getting started, go cook me some lunch haha

my sister is the poet
I am but a shadow.

You knocked the poet right out of yourself in the first part then you proceeded to put it right back in with more eloquence than ever.. I have to say I was worried I thought you'd fallen in love and you were going to forget about poetry......then I thought ..this is Janet you're talking about and it's not possible for the most wonderful man in the world to take the poetry out of her...so I relaxed and read the rest of the poem which turned into a thing of beauty......very very well done!! my kindhearted poet friend....I thought it was VANtastic!!

Jan, I think this is got to be one of my all time favourites of yours.  He brings imagery to your pen like no muse I have seen.  "Butterflies are meant to be free" and he shall be free for always and captured only in your heart for as long as your thoughts are with him.  Another for my Library collection of a dear soul, I have yet to meet...

OOPS! or Whoops! or Who Erased Mine!...
dunno where it went me friend...just knew I had written somethin' in there...so solly!

Exquisite (or how ever that word's spelled) as usual from you, long time favorite of mine. One day, maybe I'll learn a thing or three from you.

I am new here and I am just trying o keep up and reply to all these poems. There are so many good ones. I have to say that this one is perfection. I'm not sure who this Vante is but I felt that love that you must have shared. You are a very lucky woman to have felt that kind of love and the way you returned that love leaves me breathless. The way it sounds he has past away and left a beautiful part of him within your heart and soul. If this is the case, one day you will reunite and what a day that will be. I apologize if I spoke out too much, I would never mean to hurt anyones feelings. Wonderful poem my friend.

One person in this world - just one, would be so lucky to have felt like this even once.  How very lucky you were.  I have made it a mission to read and print all the Butterfly series poems can you tell? Morning Jan.

Forgive my return but sometimes I just have to dig to find something I can sink my mind and heart into.  You fill me up Jan, like no other can with your words.  This especially is to me very spiritual in the pureness of the words chosen to describe a feeling that indeed fills a heart to the brim.

"You are the crystalline oceans that rise up inside of me,
together we lie on my soul's white beaches of sand.
You are the ivory tides that pull at my beings gravity,
the moment I touched infinite ... was the moment you touched my hand."

No longer do I need the things that mortal love brings ...
for I found completion when I saw my own reflection in your eyes.
And all the contentment I will ever need or hope to dream ...
will be found where you lie inside of me ... and on the wings of butterflies.

Just needed this tonight - glad it was here.
