Through the binoculars of time
Beyond pastels of sweet mint crème
With bits of earthdust trailing forth
A starlet from an angel’s dream

A flagon of flame the dragons
She tames regale her fiery mane
Jump in the pools of the golden
Thread spools and retrace her lover’s lane

The clouds spell a spiral staircase
The steps are high as if for child
I must find my way two by two
Into the boat naked she smiled

And days can pass forever down
To the last inch found in the worm
That I stepped on and split in half
There’s two of one serving this term

Ashore on the sweet lays of Abandon
Alone and never to see
The two shells that still will play
The ballad of my mistress and me
