I sat on the front porch last night
     remembering days from the past,
remembered that blue 67 camaro with the 327
and how I loved to drive it fast.

     She screamed like the wind
when I put the hammer down
     and all the guys watched
     when I cruised the town.

     The guys all asked
when I pulled into that old bar
     what's a girl like you
     doing with a fast car?

Then I'd just laugh and smile
and say "Don't you know that
     old saying is true,
     wild eyed girls
     like fast cars too."

     I sat and thought
     of my old crazy ways,
     thinking about those
     good old days.

     Yeah, those old days
     I sure am missing,
as I sit on the front porch
     reminiscing....

It's always so much fun to go back and remember the things we loved when we were younger. Today, my friend and I talked for an hour and a half about TV shows and toys we had when we were little. It was a great time and brought back sooooo many memories. Great poem, Gentle Spirit.

Elizabeth, yes it is fun to go back and remember.  Thanks for leaving your comments this evening.

BSC, I don't have that 67 camaro anymore, but man I loved that car.  There were so many memories in that car.  I can just imagine what it would have been like to have it back in the 60's.....lol.....but then I wasn't even old enough to think about driving back then.....but it just goes to prove a point, that some things, when wonderful to start with just never change.  Thank YOU for the trip down memory lane.

Gentle Spirit,
You stired up a few of my own memories. I have always liked to drive a car 'with enough motor'! Even today, I can't go near a speed way or Go Cart track, (I'll knock the grandkids down to get my turn, hehe). Hey, I'm pretty good, bet you are to. Once had a Chev. '80 with a 454, humm boy, good ole days!  Thanks for the memories and sharing, getting to know you guys.    Connie
