Taking wing

As inhabitants of skin
held to ground by
mass and gravity,
it is natural for
boundaries to congeal
visually.

How is it then,
that you can fly,
face framed by sky,
above, beyond
and through us
in such sweet chorus?

Your acumen
has expanded
while we remain static,
narrow in focus
as the horse tethered
sweating, slaving
steam rising
as one hoof
follows
the other.

Oh to be rescued
from all this.

Brilliant verse Corinne,
"oh to be rescued from all this." Smooth.

Corinne, this piece makes me think of the freedom of the soul when released from earthly bounds.

Always love your style of writing, it sure makes one think real hard.
