Listening to every heart

0 posted 2000-11-02 02:05 PM

When Your Heart Comes Home

from time to time it can be so simple to lose
the sentient keeper of your heart
so many occurrences in each day
so many things in which to take part

so many great roles to play, so very little time
if the keeper of your heart never calls you “mine”

now and then you may forget to say
to the steadfast keeper of your heart
“I love you very much, my dear”
and that loss can render you apart

so very little time, so many great roles to play,
if you as keeper of the heart, forget these words to say

is it hard throughout the day to call your love, your friend?
is it difficult to find a quiet moment in which to spend
a hug, a kiss, or impart a loving whisper in their ear?
wouldn’t you as a keeper, know in your heart this mend?

so many great roles to play, so very little time
if the keeper of your heart never calls you “mine”

so if you have a home within your heart,
and when you next take to heart your love
then look into the eyes of this, your light
and with God’s countenance from above

admit there is very little time, the role you play is great
and then thank God daily, my dear, to have your loving mate

If I whisper, will you listen?...KRJ

Sunshine,
This a gently written, but strong reminder for me to show appreciation to the mate that I love so very much.  Thank you and I will take your advice.  God Bless You, Bob <><

Kari, this is so tender, and so warm. And so truly said, how long does it take to say what needs to be said. I love this as always, utterly brilliant.
Take care

A reminder I am grateful for - and one I think we all can use - beautifully expressed.

Karilea~
I was reminded of
Count your many blessings
Count 'em one by one.
Count your many blessings,
see what God has done.

A really good write, my friend.

Do you folks realize that you all embody the very essence of understanding?  That you have read, and responded so, tells me thus...

so I thank you all for your kind comments...

A beautiful poem reminding us that we cannot take anything for granted, for it is so easy to lose what we have. It's so important to express our feelings verbally to all our loved ones
Written so well by a loving heart
