à la Cafe Cliché
~*Marge Tindal*~

marinade me in saucy rhyme
soak me tender overnight
darned if I'll exit the poetic buffet
with this menu of gourmet delight

a heaping plate of poetry
a little sonnet on the side
all layed out, respledant
bursting with poetic pride

you leave nothing out of the recipe
passionate poetic soufflé
gourmet of the finest degree
à la cafe cliché

No drive through poetry in this forum!
grab your coffee, stuff your pillow in your chair and sit a spell
no escape from this poetic embrace
full of grace and hugs, with the words of love
old times penned in poetic rhyme
a little octane here, butane there
wine over yonder, in dreams we ponder
butterflies dance in the sky, to fill our eyes
who could be bored with this menu?
Loved your poem Marge.

Marge,,,

I'll marinade you with my rhymes
Saute you with a sonnet
Be sure to bring your sweet tooth
'Cause I'm putting sugar on it!

I'll baste you with a ballad, dear
And spread it on real thick.
I have a hundred ways to serve you -
You can take your pick!

I'll cook you till you are well-done
Although I know you're rare
I don't use forks...I use my fingers
Hope that you don't care.

We'll have a banquet, you and I
Now don't think I'm a flirt
But when the main course finishes
I'll have you for dessert!!!!

Brown sugar sweetness resting in the depths of your eyes
Tender melting in the freshest meat of your lips
With the many facets of you tossed in garden salad surprise
Your heart of the finest wine where one only sips

Delicate pasta tantilizing in the teasing of your hair
Love served up from you in friendship's bottomless bowl
Wonderful fullness of the meal you serve for all to share
Showing us daily, the gourmet touch residing in your soul

it seems that you've been marinated
sauteed in some rhyme,
dipped in batter, fried real hot,
and then you made some time --
to create such a menu sweet,
so, cliches?? well, who cares??
a salad of poetic verse
should surely be the wares
of succulent delightful phrases
with or sans the dressing....

marge, your poetry is a
delectible ingesting!!
