New Day Dawning

There’s a new day dawning
With promise comes the sun
I’ve found my smile again
And peace that was hard won

Yesterday’s hurt has been released
Today brings new hope
Whatever troubles I encounter
I’ll find a way to cope

I’ve cut the ties that held me back
My heart has been set free
I’m focusing on what’s important:
Celebrating life and loving me

Thank you all for bearing with me during my gloomy days.  Sing with me now, "here comes the sun..."

Serenity, there's a ray of hope with your name on it.

To love yourself is often a hard thing to do, I remember it took me a while to find my self worth, don't let anyone take it from you. Well written poem, loved it.

the hands of he and the promise that s/he is blessed among women".

Great, Tara! But how did you find this new happiness. Pass on the secret, will you?
Glad to see you are feeling good right now.

Thank you all for the replies!

No secret to it, just got to make the decision to stop torturing myself with painful memories.  I've found a way to let go of the hurt and remember the lessons I've learned.
