Black Eyed Susans were my thing
when I was just a little girl.
I'd spend hours, in fields where they grew,
having not a care in this world.

I was a queen in her garden,
I was a princess, stepped down from her throne.
I was the bride, with a bouquet,
of Black Eyed Susans, when I was grown.

With arms laded down, I would dance,
a ballerina, I was at that time.
And I would sing opera, and bow to the applause,
to my ears, my voice sounded fine.

Then there were times, when I was a boy,
a great boxer, I knew I could be.
And someday I'd Captain my own ship,
and sail over the deep blue sea.

The times pretended as boy, were rare,
for I liked, just being a girl.
The flowers that grew, wild everywhere,
were the major part, of my world.

Now that I'm grown, I'm none of thoes things,
that I imagined myself to be.
My imagination still, sometimes runs wild,
I pick every, Black Eyed Susan I see!

SEA: I too giggle when I hear the name
Black Eyed Susan...It will be a sweet memory for you to remember the children getting such a kick out of your name.

BTW..That was a true poem I wrote. Got my butt spanked more then once for stopping to pick flowers instead of coming home from school!(I'd forget the time!)..LOL..

MARGE: It's a pleasure to know it was a
pleasure for you! Thanks bunches!

Well, I just a poem that mentioned four o'clocks, and now this!  Yes, little sunflowers I call them, I love black eyed susans, maybe because Susan is my middle name!

Kitty..my Black Eyed Susans are still blooming..and  leaving me smiling when  a new one shows up..I dont have the heart yet to prune them back...and now I know I will wait.
