Death is not black but shades of grey
Of hope that slowly leeches away
Blindness that corrupts while holding sway
Not black at all but darkly grey

Death is not black, it's dark, dark, blue
With silver veining through its hue
A lightening promise, shooting through
With deep regret to paint death blue

Death is not black like dark of night
But more an absence of all light
A place to go to give up the fight
Where restless dreams succumb in fright.

Death is not black, it is just pale
Welcomed in or with travail
Fade away, or weep and wail
Death is not black, it's simply pale.

Sea,
thanks for responding. It was inspired by Sunshine's death poem. Where death was victorious, glorious and wonderful.

Kethry~
What a brilliantly inspired piece.

'Death is not black, it's dark, dark, blue
With silver veining through its hue
A lightening promise, shooting through
With deep regret to paint death blue'

Some very profound thoughts here.

So exceptional; I missed it on the first round, so I had to send it back to the top

Wonderfully expressed.

IT is, it really is, this is very perceptive, Kethry!

Kethry, how kind of you to mention me in this...your poem...you did a lovely job on your own...but I have to quietly smile that perhaps we shared a "moment"...

thank you!

I agree with this one wholeheartedly, Kethry. This is excellent writing...some things are just shades of grey..reminds me of the song "I've Neen to Town"...

I've been to town
You ask me if I've seen the Milky Way
I have....and furthermore I'd like to say
It isn't milky white
It's dingy grey
Especially when your world breaks down
I know because I've been to town.

Charisma,
thanks for your kind response.

'Deer thanks for responding, I haven't heard that song so I will have to look it up I think.
