Bleeding My Sorrows

Wounds, though mine are many,
refuge you gladly gave.
Cradled, and attended by the sounds
of your heart's embrace -- its coddling
tempo echoing compassion.

Bleeding my sorrows, you only held
me closer (unafraid to mix your blood
with my own) rapidly abandoning self
and conforming to my needs -- like a sponge
you consumed my fear.

Secure within the nurturing of your sanctum
my skin once again became receptive to
touch, and my need for affection quickened
as the gentle persuasions of your saintly
songs delivered healing to my soul.

Discovering new air, a scent of passion
began to overtake me, like spring I was
given to new life.
My eyes, now in earnest sight of love for
the first time are fixed to know its
trancing glimmer.

And just as I thought my comprehension
had swelled to its heights, you looked at
me and said... ''by the light of our union
my soul has prospered, and in your need
my heart returned to life''

what a great love poem, a work of art.

Tossing words like wishful coins into the deep well of an open heart. R. fox

Robert Joseph, so often what love brings to us, it allows us to give, in return. This is beautiful writing. Thank you ~

"Bleeding my sorrows..."
What appropriate poetic phrasing and surely an act of healing.  Beautifully written.
