When the worm turns,
Well as hard as I tried
I couldn’t tell
They look the same from all sides.

Put a worm through hook
Did i hear you say?
Try telling that,
to a worm today!

What do you mean,
Worms are not cute?
Haven't you seen one
In a new suit?

I admit yes, I've seen
a worm in a suit
and through dinner and dancing
he was actually cute
even handsome, I'd venture
in his cool flannel threads
silver cufflinks, black wingtips
little more to be said
but when evening drew closed
and the goodbyes got sticky
he was still just a worm
and his kiss was just icky!

This reply from woodrow the worm:

icky! icky! you now say
After the mouthwash and deodorant spray?
I scrubbed off the soil, why every last bit,
And now you got me on the verge of fit!
I'll dance you and dine you in my favorite of most,
I warm yummy pile of steamy compost.
once you've been there and rolled in the bliss,
Ill sneak upon you and plant a soft wormy kiss*

And, to Woodrow ~

Now Woodrow, you say that
you've scrubbed and you've sprayed
and as sweet as you are
you may have even bouquet(ed)
Yes the dance and the dinner
may be hard to resist (ugh)
but I can't guarantee
that you'll really be kissed
Oh, alright I admit it,
dear Woodrow, you're cute
but whatever happens,
don't take off that suit!

Now you've committed
me to my earthy domain,
And to shun me away,
Would bring me heart ache and pain.
I will retire in tears,
Beneath the old turnip root,
Because you can't bear the sight of my birthday suit. (boo hoo)
(tiny earthworm tears)

Now Woodrow please don't weep and fuss
you'll have your suit all in a muss
and then how will the town we toast
from atop your lovely pile of compost?

(squinching face, holding breath)

Okay, just one tiny kiss!

(sigh...the things we do for love...)

I was just testing
A trial you see
If it was true
That your heart did love me.
So I will tell you a secret
(If you want to, you can wince)
But for a sweet tender kiss
I will turn to your prince.< !signature-->

Dear Woodrow, a test,
and I've passed it you say?
So no compost pile
of veggie decay?
I cannot pretend,
my relief is quite real
from a worm to a prince
oh heart stop! be still!
I have but one question
before kissing you though
can we keep the nice suit?
(sentimental, you know)
