     The fear begins with
     shadows of the night.
     Shadows that cause lost souls
     to be filled with fright.

     Shadows dancing on the wall
     not knowing if their real,
     wondering if it will devour you
     or will you become it's next meal.

     Hearing rattling windows
     and such a ghastly sound,
     making your mind race
     and your heart begins to pound.

     Are demons waiting there
     hidden in the murk?
     Are they around every corner,
     do you wonder where they lurk?

     Your heart becomes filled with fear
     you pray for the morning light,
     you can run, but you can not hide
     from the shadows of the night.

On the wings of words our spirits fly, and our souls are free.

Very appropriate for the season, Gentle Spirit. I wouldn't like to run into one of those shadows...
