Where Have You Gone, Fair Lady ?
~*Marge Tindal*~

She didn't know he was watching,
observing from afar.
He watched and he waited this Halloween Eve
as she got into her car.

He followed her cautiously
as her destination she approached.
To move too quickly,
would on her secrecy encroach.

She entered the graveyard,
simply slipped through the gate.
He would have to be devious
to catch her this late.

He went over the fence
and was hiding behind a tree,
when he spied his target,
kneeling on bended knee.

Here she was in mourning,
crying to the moon,
'Why in the world
did you take my man so soon ?'

Now he suddenly felt
an intruder at best.
He quickly left her to her vigil,
and to quietly let her heart rest.

He wondered where she was
as the days went slowly past.
He returned to the site
where he had seen her last.

There upon the headstone
at the place he'd seen her kneeling,
was a new name added,
it was all too revealing.

Her heart had been breaking,
for the one that she had known.
She simply climbed inside
and there she stayed past dawn.

She rests now with her man.
Scratched upon the stone,
'I missed him too much,
now he is not alone.'

Marge~

I am so glad I did not miss this one.  So sad and haunting, but in a way I guess she ended up where she wanted to be all along.  It is never easy to let go and move on.  It is the only sometimes though.  Nice writing!

Thanks, gal !

LoneWolf~
Pleased to know you found it and enjoyed it.
It is just the sort of tale that befits the Halloween telling.

Marcy~
Hadn't thought of stalker ...
just an acquaintance of curious nature ...
Perhaps if he had reached out instead of turning away
he might have prevented her from taking her life.
Thanks for your reply, hon.

TerryW~
I like spectral ...
I hadn't thought of that.
Thank you so much, my friend.
