Have you ever looked for the end of the rainbow?
Its such an elusive search.
Just when you think you have it in your grasp...
...its gone.
You can see it there, just over the hill
Just beyond the trees
Touching the water.
But you can never quite get to it.
Its always one step further on
One hill farther away.

I will love you til the rainbows end.

perfect, poetic ponderings...
yes..we are always searching for the rainbows
gold...
and the clouds silver lining..
those who are the truly lucky ones, find them just behind their heart ...
love that last line.
perfect Paula

Paula, this is incredibly romantic, I love rainbows, some think they are trite, who cares!!! To me, they symbolize a promise, and love is a promise.  And I feel that even though the rainbow is no longer visible doesn't mean it hasn't left the promise of love behind.

This is very symbolic to me too....the promise of the rainbow means so much; sure it's elusive, but it's beautiful and it always reminds us of the beauty in the things we love so well.  And what better association with loving someone, always!!!

Paula~
You've written the search of many hearts.
The elusive symbol that beckons us to follow
to the magical spot which contains that
which will make us happier than we've ever been.
There is no end to the rainbow -
and no end to the hope of finding that love.

Paula--
this was beautiful! the gift of love
is found throughout every line of this
poem. you expressed your feelings in a
creative, breath-taking way...the
rainbow is a elusive symbol of hope,
love, and dreams. you have put it so
elegantly and full of grace.

take care,

Paula,
Thank you so much for this poem. I wrote a similar one a few years ago, and will try to find and post int on Passions. Yes it is never touchable physically but it touches the heart, and that matters.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

Disappearing Rainbows

It rained today and all last night
This morning tried to find
The crescent shaped with colors bright
That came with morning shine.

I caught a small and quickened view
Of stripes up in the sky
But when I turned around, just once
It left, before my eyes.

The rainbow disappeared in fade
And with it, so it seems
Went many of my daily plans
And many of my dreams.

I'll try each time when sky tears fall
And sun comes out once more
To catch a glimpse of rainbow's hues
As I have done before.

And hope that I can capture them
And store then in mind's eye
Those elusive plans and dreams I make
To become that butterfly.

Loving til the rainbows end just captured my
mind, Paula, such lovely thoughts you have penned.
