The sun went down ages ago
Why am I still up, I really must know?

NO TIME TO NOTE THE H'RS FLOWN BY
GET THIS DOWN OR YOU WILL CRY.

This is the end, I must give up
I need sleep, or coffee in my cup.

COFFEE IT IS, YOU REALLY MUST STAY
5 MORE PAGES, THEN I'LL GO AWAY.

5 more pages is more then gone
Still you continue to whisper so long.

JUST A BIT MORE I PROMISE TO BOOM
I'LL HAVE A HOLIDAY WHEN DEADLINES DO LOOM.

I'm a slave to the pen from dust 'til dawn
I should have been born in vampiric form.

Muses sometimes hide when the rush of the 'day job' consumes...

what more perfect time than night then lol?

Good write.

Ah yes, late hours, early hours,
peeking into dreams and hot-water showers...

they take over, don't they!

Muses pester all of us.  And like I said take a holiday when you really need them (IE deadlines looming)  Thanks all.  So happy you could relate to this.
