When to Let Go? |

What is coming? I hear the distant rumbling. I'm hesitant To look out the window For fear of what might be. When will it be No longer worth the pain? When will the hurt Overtake the need to continue? How much longer Will I insist? Tell me, What's happened to my strength? Why do I give in to you? I know what will occur, Yet I play the fool Time and time again. When will I understand That the fire is but a spark? How can I realize That the once-rushing river Has slowed to hardly a seepage? The rain that once drenched us Now barely moistens our brow with mist. I long to bring back Those desperate extremes, But something has left us forsaken. Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'it might have been.' -John Greenleaf Whittier |

SP, this sure tells it just how it feels...it's so hard to let go...I know, it is for me...I never want to give up. You just want to know why....need to know why..... hang in there!!! It is hard to keep the fire burning when the sparks won't light in the rain. Excellent write my friend. |

I can feel the fingertips losing grip from each other as the canyon looms below...Its a long fall we take when we let go...but its harder to hang on to the enevitable, unless you feel strength in the hand holding you from the fall,...but only you can decide which answer holds the least pain. |

Yes, I loved this one. I love the metaphor about the streams and the meaning behind it. "When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass, and the sun drips honey."" Laurie Lee Kathleen |
