Dubious

Thoughts fall away like the red shift
And coffee vapors mist and drift.
Seducing in upon a head
That lays a pillow acting dead.

Hell is in the getting up
Heaven's in the coffee cup
And metronomes tick away
To tick and stroke the cope of day.

I'll wear my Rumpelstilkin mask
And face the ugly work day task.
I'll add my ounce of hired fuel
To make the masses buy and drool.

The day will wear and I will swear
For never will they clear the air
Subliminal will eat away
Insidious will win the day.

And Charlie Chaplin will asleep
Another day will be complete.

Just another day in the life..
Not always so great, hm? But at least you can write at your own will.

Sy...even if this day is ouch
and you are laying on the couch
I'm glad you found some poetry
and how you feel is what I see

Great poem!

somehow, Sir, I always get this feeling of you smiling at all of us working folk...talking about the "day" at night...

but do know, you made me grin the whole way through!!! {~,^}  I also appreciate the "mask" which is ready for Hallowe'en...

me thinks ya need to trade in your java
for some of me raspberry tea ...
it seems to have some "strange" powers LOL
and there is nada thing tedious, or routine
about your poetry ...
but i do so relate.. to feeling dubious some days...(most days)
and as for the gift of caffeine..

some days me needs it in an I.V.

All dug up from the past. Thank you.

You are a refreshing breeze. *L*

Ron,
Thank you and have a cup on me.

Karilea,
You are so observant. *L*

Dsnyder,
Thank you for the great.

Wilfred,
Thank you for the read and nice comment.

JM,
The nector of your words are sweet.
And they are to me a treat.
You hang my sky a JM star and
I often wonder where you are.

Sy,
Another excellent telling of the work-a-day world .Don't know if i've ever actually "Chaplined" myself to sleep , but I have been known to "Marceau" a bit. Great read.

Chaplin "said" a lot with a little
And so do you.
I happen to agree with Wilfred 100% and I'd like to see DR. Moose's Marceau in action.
Incidentally, great poem

Im still here where I've always been
reading your poetry...cause your under me skin
