What sweet maiden fair will surrender to me?
Who will long to feel my hands cup her tender face,
Taste the passions of my kiss,
Laced with the wine of  desire?
Will she dare to feel the heat of my breath
Upon the nape of her neck?
Burning. Burning.
Will she coo at the tickle of whispers,
Drifting to her ears,
Becoming searching fingers,
Running down her spine?
Longing. Longing.
Will she dare gasp as our bodies meet,
On a collision forever meant to be?
Destined to a silent scream,
Drenched in salted beads scattered as pearls on flesh.
Gasping. Gasping.
Will she lay upon my bed of roses,
Which I have stripped of thorns,
Of which my bleeding fingers will atest?
Will she lay beneath our mantle of stars
With supple dreams to follow?
Drifting. Drifting.
Oh sweet maiden fair, where oh where.
Will our paths be abandoned, blanketed by thickets,
Twisted barriers yet to be breached?
Or open roads to the heart?
Waiting. Waiting.

And where is he, my knight so bold
to carry me out of this cold
to prove to me that men of old
still exist, have not all sold?

My knight will drink the wine with me
and hold the chalice up to see
the love that sparkles in it deep
A treasure we can always keep.

Inspiration, Ron, thats you..
Surely I could do better, but this was spontaneous..LOL
Love your work. Tell your wife she is lucky..

Thank you ladies, especially for the bump (hee hee), and truhfully I'm the lucky one.
And geez, i gotta find those thornless roses, it's costing me a fortune in bandages.

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire format and the way this was written.

Do tell,What fair maiden would not succomb to thy words so lovely written from the heart?

Written so beautiful as I close thy eyes, I hear the tune of your words playing danceing across thy lips as I am reading them from the page!

Now fair maidens,
so many that take heart
I give a rose to each, (thornless of course)
but those thorns, they smart.
Ah but that is fine,
what's a little tweak'
and send you along,
with a kiss upon your cheek.
