wish you could see the pain I hide
the things I know which I have lied
the people and places I've turned aside
and the dreams that slowly bled and died
I remember the faces I'd used before
trapped in silence with a slamming door
left them laying broke on the floor
walked away and closed my eyes once more
inside my mind I saw your face
saw you laying there in that place
still wearing satin, leather, and lace
tears falling down in some exotic race
your hair arrayed like a dream come true
the wind kissing it, not knowing what to do
a picture of breathtaking beauty, of you
all doing things to me that I never knew
too bad your voice I could never hear
ambused by doubt, I ran in fear
I ran until there was no one near
to live in solitude from year to year
with your memory here I'll lie
until the day I'll fade and die
I'll be haunted by the tears in your eye
all because I made you cry

"There were times in my life
when I was going insane
tryin to walk through
the pain
when I lost my grip
and I hit the floor
yeah I thought I could leave but couldn't get out the door" - Aerosmith "Amazing"

Yeah, the mistakes we make when we are afraid of committment. love can be scary sometimes, and we don't realize what we had 'til it gone. Ron

Desperado, what can I say but it's a pleasure to read your penned poetry once again.  The expression you weave into each verse is truly captivating...

Well done my friend!

Wonderful write, desperado!  Love can be frightening, and far too many don't realize what they've actually got until it is gone.  Great read!!

I'm impressed!  This is very sensitive poetry coming from a man!

I like this a lot, everything it says... just wish I did'nt have memories like this too.  All we can hope for is that we learned what we were supposed to and try to make things right.

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

Good poem, I'm just wondering what made her cry.  Maybe it's good that we don't know, adds a bit of a mystery.  Good read milkbone, good read.  ;p

Des:
There was a lot of pain and regret in this one.  Seems like a restless peace also. I hope that makes sense.  Great writing! ((HUGS))
