They met somewhere in the middle.
No end. No beginning. Just there.
Like smack in the circular motion
Of one of those swinging glass doors,
Just going ‘round and ‘round.
And if you get off,
You have to wait ‘til the other person gets back around.
By then you jump back in and it starts again.
Just chasing each other again.
‘Round and ‘round.
That’s how they met.
With that glass between them.
You can put your palms up against each other,
But you can’t really feel ‘em.
Like kissing through glass.
It feels cold. Not warm and nice.
Just leaves those funny lip prints there.
And you know someone’s gonna clean it.
So what’s the point.
You go ‘round and ‘round.
You can see, but can’t touch.
Yep, that’s how it is with them.
They’re in the middle.
No end. No beginning.
Just one of those things.

yes, the glass between..sigh.  It's an empty thing sometimes.  And even sadder, to me, just personally, is that it is sometimes preferable.  Thanks for the think.  Enjoying your work.

'They met somewhere in the middle.

'Just chasing each other again.
‘Round and ‘round.'

You've penned some great lines there, Ron!  And, you've got me thinking, too.  Not always a good thing at this hour!
Excellent write, Ron!!

Boy do I ever know this feeling...images...reflections in that glass...is it real? How can you tell?
