An open glade, so secluded,
Yet so inviting,
Lay still undiscovered
Beneath a silver moon's sheer lighting.
Light shines through silk draperies,
Disguised as a heavenly mist,
To a spot here on earth,
Where pixies once kissed.
Dark licorice shadows lay waiting,
In the distance beyond,
As if on queue, fireflies appear,
Flicker, blink and respond,
By twirling and dancing,
Like fairy-like stars in the sky.
While the wind wisps through the trees
In a soft angel sigh.
Midnight dew, liquid diamonds,
Oh how they shine,
On blades of grass in shades of ivy,
Chocolate and wine.
In a silver lit clearing
Where you can dance for the moon,
To lay with a lover,
To kiss and to swoon,
To gaze at the candles,
Held up high in the skies,
To lay back in a dream
To close soft sleepy eyes.
A place so secluded,
Yet so open and inviting,
I search for it nightly,
Beneath the silver moon’s sheer lighting.
