If I Should Die.
~~~Daniel J D~~~
If I should die in summer
All I want is for you to remember
That my life for all of you
I lived knowing that I loved you
Even though, many days I hurt alone
The silence of your distance
Kept me fighting for just a glance
A sign that you never wished I was gone.
If I should die in autumn
Let the leaves of sorrow
Only envelope one tomorrow
Take a good look at the days
We all shared, although many strained
Our lives together was never chained
Bring back and relive those memories
Hold them in your hearts and sing the melodies
If I should die in winter
Release those cold days from your hearts
Bring out the whiteness and sincerity of love
Speak of me the way you would describe a white dove
Put your arms around each other
For I want you all to remember
I may not at times have shown my innerself
But I always loved you more than myself
Some of the dreams I had for you
I never achieved, but what better dream
It has been knowing, my heart was all for you
If I should die in spring
Gather each a white flower
And before you place it on my cover
Think of me as the person
Who cared for you with boundless love
I stood alone, through every season
Hurdled the greatest challenges
To make your lives one of reason
Seven white flowers in spring
Is all I ask from you my family
Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
(Daniel J D)
Ron,
Thank you so much. I often ask myself how much more love a person can give.
Snowpants,
You are a treasure. Better to let the feelings be known before it is too late. Thank you for your support.
Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
Victoria,
Serenity,
Bloomingrose,
Butterflies,
Corinne,
Thank you all so much for your tender words. I really appreciate your comments at all times. Life can be difficult to cope with, but death is even tougher, particularly for those so close to you. Opening up before, is better than leaving questions unanswered.
Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
