In the midst of flowing muse
my mind, poet's concoction
refreshed by writers I peruse
but sleep is not an option.

Manic mind and maniac prose
my thoughts more fast than pen
ravel up the night and those
return, … no sleep again

When muse is flowing fast and free
while I'm probably a minority
other works inspire me
and sleep is no priority

Faster thoughts and faster still
they make no sense to me
but countless pages quickly fill
so sleep again I see…

Rushing, hurtling through the night
I've penned, not all my best
but lines of hope and lines of might
allow me now to rest

Gently, slowly off to sleep
to Morpheus' arms I go
dream the dreams, both warm and deep
inspiration for manic flow.

Growth demands a temporary surrender of security.

Now I could sleep for England, truly, but how well you write this, the manic flow that even I get. Not that it will keep me awake for long, but while it does, then the words just flow. As usual you have written something that springs the memory free. Love it, and it's really good.
Take care

I can totally relate to this...when the Muse beckons, who are we to turn a deaf ear to the call? (And everytime I have, I end up regreting the lost words...)

Enjoyed muchly! =) LJ

Kethry, I can relate very well. There are nights that no sleep is possible until my words and my body are both on sheets.

Kethry, I love your description of your muse. I can definitly relate to this one. They are like a small child, won't leave you alone until they have what they want.
