families of time ...

take me to a time
where i've never been
when the candle
was always lit
at sundown

a day's work
was farming
my own corn
hunting my own
beast

teaching my own
child the lessons
learned in a lifetime
of successes and
failure

family was necessary
more for survival
than the love
that would bond
forever

then let me measure
the level of success
let me humble myself
to the many
mistakes

then let me adore
the family i have
no matter where
on Earth
they are

~I REALLY like the sound of this piece. Your words say so much more to me than what appears on the screen. Just awesome! Thanks for the read. Take care and *Peace.

Very earthy, warm and gave me moments of my own past to ponder, as well as the present. So enjoyed.    Marcy
