Surely From Hell - Paradelle
~*Marge Tindal*~

Darkest night of nights
Darkest night of nights
Deepest ghostly shadows walking
Deepest ghostly shadows walking
Ghostly night of deepest shadows
Walking darkest nights

Stirring eye of newt in pot of black
Stirring eye of newt in pot of black
Bubbling caldron draws the evil
Bubbling caldron draws the evil
Eye of newt draws the evil stirring
In pot of caldron bubbling black

No cries of trick or treat choices
No cries of trick or treat choices
Tiny voices screaming with fear
Tiny voices screaming with fear
Tiny cries of no trick or treat choices
Voices screaming with fear

Darkest nights stirring
Deepest ghostly shadows walking
Bubbling black newt in pot of caldron
Draws eye of the evil night
No cries of trick or treat choices
Fear screaming with tiny voices

Lizzie~
Grab a big bottle of Tylenol -
and hop down to the Work Shop ...
The teacher is missing-in-action, but
there's an explanation of the requirements
for the form.

They do have a special on Tylenol at WalMart this week!
Love ya'

So this is the style that has poor sweet serenity raving mad..lol...hhhhhmmmmm... maybe I need to give this one a go as well.  We shall see.  Twas spooky indeed but the spookiest part is that I didn't know that it was you stirring the pot that night when I was screaming for help. (wink)  From hell indeed this night was.

Marge, this piece is very creative, fresh, and innovative as only a poet of your caliber could come up with this fabulous piece.

Grrr....guess I better head to Walmart then...and sigh...back to the workshop!!!

This is great, Marge, and it just makes me realize how much I hate the one I wrote.

Marge,
so this is what a paradelle is supposed to be!
I'll have to get to the workshop to see if I can write within the rules.

Scary and brilliant at the same time.

Marge--the choice of this form with this particular subject matter was so effective...the repetition pulled more depth from the darkness of it...great poem, loved it!

Thank you always for your views.
You are greatly appreciated.

Shucks ... I'm not crazy about the form,
but I do enjoy a grueling challenge.
Knowing you, you'll crank out a beaut !

Kethry~
It almost became an agony of defeat moment,
but I swallowed another handful of Tylenol
and forged ahead.
Thanks ... check out the stuff in Poetry Workshop.

Hey Marge,
I took one look at the paradelle class and skedaddled quick smart.
I can see that you have the knack, but how long did it take?... you have done a wonderful job of it.. wonderful.
Maybe when I've got a few spare weeks, I'll give this format a try.

Marge - I don't think I ever even heard the word paradelle before but if this is an example I think I really like it!  This format really suits the poem...or maybe this poem really fits the format...anyhow, I think I'll read this to my class for Halloween!

PoetsSister~
I'd never heard of it before either,
until a friend bet me a few months back
that I couldn't write one ...
I did and swore it'd be the last one.
I was wrong ...
If you go to the Poetry Workshop Forum
the teacher (who has been missing in action)
has the proper instructions listed.

Glad to have you share it with your students.
Thanks for the read.

Thanks.
Does it matter that it gave me Tylenol headache #9 ?

Dr.Moose~
Thank you.
You should post yours here in Open !

Oh, dear !
Get your Tylenol FIRST !

Victoria~
I don't think it could possibly be anyone's favorite.
But, yes it's apt for the season.
