--- The Knock Upon My Door ---

The knock upon my door I hear,
Fills so many hearts with fear.
I fear you not, my hooded friend.
For what begins, must surely end.
I meet you not with eyes of fear.
Mortal “justice” has beat you here.
They took my love, my very soul.
And left for you, an empty hole.
I greet you friend, with great relief.
You bring with you my long sought peace.
Sit kind sir and chat a spell,
Before we leave my mortal Hell.
For notice given I’m in your debt.
Time to see that all is set.
I ask one thing before we go,
Let Lindsay know I loved her so.

Some men see things as they are and ask "WHY ?" I see things as they could be and ask "WHY NOT ?"

LS,
The hooded one who knocked at your door
Did not come to take you, friend
He came to tell you to write some more
For there's still time to love, again

hiya Stranger, this is one heck of a good write my friend.  I've seen some of your poetry before and this one is one of my favorites.

An equisite weave of so much emotion is packed into this rhyme!!

Coco

inot2B - What a fabulous poetic reply. I hope I didn't alarm you. My poem wanted to be more about accepting mortality without fear. But I see after numerous re-reads, That it reads more like an invitation to the Grim Reaper.

Butterflies_dont_cry - To get a "thumbs up from you is VERY gratifiying as, your work seems to cut through to my heart/ Thank you.

CocoBaci - Hello, new friend and thank you for the kind reply. I will be paying particular attention for your writes henceforth.

SEA - From someone who has posted over 2300 times and clearly read many writes, that means a lot       Thank you.

Charisma - "this touched me.....right from your heart"  My goal is usually to get my feelings across as strongly as I can. I am glad you could feel it. And oh what a fitting name you have.
