A passing stranger glance,
A smiling eye,
Corners of the mouth upturned,
In instant attraction.
A brief moment,
While the world dissappears.
This is no lover's stare,
But a positive look,
Of mutual understanding.
In a moment,
You stole my heart,
As a person in general,
And in the same moment,
Gave it back,
In agreement that it wasn't yours.
Mutual respect of boundaries.
Strangers are now each other's memory,
Because of a chance to agree in soul,
On some intimately unsaid thought.
How wonderful of you,
To have noticed beauty.
How great for your eyes to reassure it,
Rather than having your mouth,
Tarnish a perfectly good,
Stranger moment.

*smile* This one is both clever and whimsical, with a dash of sardonic humor. 'Rather be a silent fool than to open my mouth and prove it'...dunno who originally said that, but I can see it pertaining in my own little warped way...but that's just my way.

Seriously, it is wonderful indeed to pass a stranger and share a moment of silent camaraderie, made all the more special for the silence.

Our lives are brimming over with those "perfectly good stranger moments..".. What we do with them defines who we are, doesn't it?? Nicely done, Temptress..

Alicat:
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it, and I love that saying!    These are the things I think about that I can't explain to anyone with my physical voice. If I try, people just look at me like they're confused. Best left to poetry if ya ask me!   Thanks again!

Nanners:
Yes, I agree. What we do with them defines us.  These are the moments that a lot of people ignore.  I try to take nothing for granted.  Life is surely overflowing with these kinds of things. Thank you for reading. I am glad you enjoyed it!

Victoria:
Yes..It is wonderful!   Thank you for reading!
