Arizona's Beauty

Eastern horizon kissed as morning sun shines
Joshua trees perk up with arms raised high
Yuccas sprout forth in jest of pointed spines
Sagebrush nestled with one half opened eye

Reptilians race for their favorite place to bake
Basking early as they shed the nightime chill
Yawns of lizards and stretches of desert snake
Roadrunners dashing against mornings thrill

Saguaros cushion life under feet of western finch
Cholla cactus huddled against the paloverde trees
Fuchsia, orange, and yellow of bottlebrush clinch
Adorning desert's floor dancing in morning breeze

Desert tortoise lumbers along with decades of age
Jackrabbits bound in distorted visions of rising heat
Desert rats playing hide-n-seek with shadow's cage
Wildflowers misting the air with aromas so sweet

The desert's beauty is ours on this wonderful day
As it beckons us to share in nature's perfect view
I awaken with wonderful promises of natural play
Finding Arizona's beauty within the wonders of you

Beautiful presentation, Mark. It reminds me of the lines of the immortal poet Claude Horshank who wrote:

Mark, this one is beautiful, but not as beautiful as the sunset glinting off high ice clouds, turning the Foothills into a prism of corscating hues. I drove through Arizona back in November, then came back down in August...still here, come to think of it...although, at times, it feels like Satan's jockstrap, only not as humid.

Mark,
I have never been to Arizona, but you have surely taken me there through this masterpiece. It tells me a great deal of nature's call for us to listen. Well done!

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

Thank you for stirring up some very wonderful memories!

Vicky-thank you for the friendly smile and the second visit.

Karilea-Yes it is indeed and if one were to ever visit for just a 24 hour period it would be enough to haunt them and entice them forever.  Thank you much.

Wilfred-Polish it well my friend as you will be wearing one of mirrored reflection for the rest of your days.  Thank you greatly my friend.

Hey Mark...I was thinking...how about submitting this to the Arizona Office of Tourism? I've reread this one several times, and coupled with the graphics, I'm sure it would be a winner.

Mark my friend, I came back for another read, well actually I've come back several times, but not left messages. This is so beautiful, truly wonderous, I've added this to my library naturally. The reason I've left one this time is that this was enjoyed by all who walked by it. And being in the main entrance of the hospital that was quite a few, it's a very busy hospital. Quite a few asked me to extend their thanks to you. So on behalf of the majority of visitors, staff and patients many many thanks.
Take care

Alicat-Thank you for the site info and I did send them the poem and will wait to see what happens.  I am glad that you enjoyed it enough to come back again.

Liz-I am glad that you could finally see a part of it.  You must make time to go see it though when possible.  Thank you.

Marsha-Thank you for coming back and also for posting it on the board at your work.  I am honored that you would do that.
