The first time I came close to you...
my life was filled with love so true
the roses bloomed ..the sparrows flew
the first time I came close to you

But after meeting that first time
my heart accused me with the crime...
of wasting years of life so prime...
before I met you that first time

Inside the court of love I sit
my heart demands that I admit...
a crime that I did not commit
inside the court of love I sit

My heart addressed my lip and eye...
as witnesses to testify...
and clarify and certify...
my heart addressed my lip and eye

My eye declared life was begun...
the day I saw the shining sun...
inside your eyes I saw it run
my eye declared life was begun

My lip had only one regret...
that years were lost before we met
before that kiss i won't forget
my lip had only one regret

To prove my guilt they both persist
their testimonies both insist
the arm of law they tried to twist
to prove my guilt they both persist

I begged my heart to not oppress
the innocence that I profess
how can the innocent confess?
I begged my heart to not oppress

I told my heart I understand
but that was not a path i planned
our destinies are what command
I told my heart I understand

Then after thought my heart agreed
my innocence was then decreed
and from this charge my hands were freed
when after thought my heart agreed

My heart and I forgot the past
and hoped the days of love will last
although with you they run so fast
My heart and I forgot the past

Arabian Knight,
A very wonderful expression of your talents. Well done.

Like this a lot. Very expressive, and interestingly composed.

arabian Night,
well penned poem.
I loved the repeat line at the end of each verse

Be well
