Wildflowers on the Wind

Orchids and roses, fragrant and rare
are not like this lady, so do not try to compare
she admires the view, would breathe in one or two
but she's more at home, under skies of blue

where the winds blow, and meadowlarks sing
and wildflowers grow 'round in a ring

sturdy tensile strength, hidden from view
emotional outlets? she has one or two
a slave to lovely sounds, by music or word
she's drawn back to dreams, to be reassured

where the winds blow, and meadowlarks sing
and wildflowers grow 'round in a ring

so she would pick wildflowers, cornflowers blue
smell in the lupine, soft purpling hues
and her garden would grow gentian all along
and be content by the spring, with a cardinal's song

where the winds blow, and meadowlarks sing
and wildflowers grow 'round in a ring

she's not of lace, more of broadcloth blue
she doesn't wear silk, bluejeans will do
but her smile is genuine, 'tho she'll never laugh at you
but more at herself, it's what she will do

where the winds blow, and meadowlarks sing
and wildflowers grow 'round in a ring

so don't be amazed if she has mercurial eyes
and don't ask if her love is a great surprise
as it's in her to hunker down in your heart
for there is no naiveté where her love starts

where the winds blow, and meadowlarks sing
and wildflowers grow 'round in a ring

I sensed a fairy like mist around these words, they are lovely!

"When red-haired girls scamper like roses
over the rain-green grass,
and the sun drips honey.""

Karilea,
Wonderful and he will be,
where the winds blow, and meadowlarks sing
and wildflowers grow 'round in a ring. *L*
