Listening to every heart

Thunder Rumbles

It's too late
for spring rain
the fall has come

it's too late
for growth of grain
the fall has come

it's too late
but skies now fill
and thunder rolls along

white gray blackened
clouds now whirl
and the thunder rolls

but it's

too late for us [boom boom]
too late for us
it's
too late for us [boom boom]

and the thunder rolls [boom boom]

and the rumble rolls [boom boom]

come again you, yesterday
come again you now

come again you yesterday
come and see just how

it's too late for us

too late for us [boom boom]

too late for us [boom boom]

and the rumble rolls

Simon's in my heart
Simon's in my soul

it's too late for us
and the thunder rolls

and the rumble rolls

CD played strong and long
CD played it loud

CD played Simon's song
and I'll bet he's proud

but it's
too late for us [boom boom]

too late for us [boom boom]

the beat goes on
and it's

too late for us [boom boom]

If you could
hear this beat
and hear the
drummin' song

before long you'd
tap your feet

and spread this
song along

but it's
too late for us [boom boom]

too late for us [boom boom]

it's too late for us [boom boom]

and the rumble rolls

and the rumbles rolls
~~~~~~~~~~
and the rumble
~~~~~~~~~~
rolls.

Karilea~
WOW !

Felt the rumble
heard the song
Grabbed me singing
took me along
Sent me scurrying
for cover
Thunder rolls
in constant hover
But it's never too late
it's never too late
Boom - boom crashing
sealed our fate
It's never too late
It's never too late

*Well, my stars ... look what you went and did !
Thank you poet !
I guess I'd have to confess to hearing this one loud and strong.
Wonderful job, Karilea.

Karilea,
there is not only a song in there, I heard it and now the music's in my head aaaaarrgh!
Absolutely, fabulously, lyrically mastered piece.
Be well

hhhmmmmm...me thinks you have a need to listen to Chad Brock's "Lightning Does The Work".  Either that or you have been listening to it already.  This is beautiful and it should be a song.  I do love a good storm and this one sounds like one heck of a good one.

No Mark, I don't know the song you refer to, maybe I should listen first, and decide if this rates as a song later...

thanks for reading...

Argh...I hate it when I get a song stuck in my head! But I think I won't mind singing this one for awhile... (Watch tonite at my friend's I'll just bust out with "It's too late for us [boom boom]" and they're gonna be like "What the-?!")Beautiful poem, got me thinking of storms and Garth Brooks.

Much love all,
Krissie

I want to thank everyone who has responded.  Paul Simon's The Rhythm of the Saints is partly responsible for this piece...if you haven't heard this CD, I would vote for you to go borrow it or locate it...well worth listening to!

Vicky, there's indeed the "tap tap" of the beat!  You've got it!

Ron, no, you need not...

AniKay, I wish you could hear the song that plays in my head!...I can't get rid of it...[note to self: contact brother who's in the music biz...]

Charisma...I won't trade you my Neil Diamond experience, but the next time you know there's a Simon concert...clue me in...

thank you everyone...
