If You Could Thread the Stars

If you could reap the petals of every rose on earth
If you could fill a tresure chest with jewels of golden worth
If you could thread the stars into a necklace twinkling bright
I’d trade them all for just one kiss in shadows of the night

Whatever promise fills your mind, no matter what you do
There’s nothing that can near compare the love I have for you
Even if you churned the sea into a wishing well
Even if winged angels were entranced within your spell

If you could write a song for me that echos in the breeze
And silences the mocking bird, and calms the mighty seas
If you could fill these promises from out your whispering lips
The splendors couldn’t match the gift of just one tender kiss

Elizabeth, oh how beautiful this is, utterly beautiful. I'm speachless, this is so lovely and I could never pick a favourite line because it's all wonderful.
Take care

Only you could find a way to actually describe love in it's purest form.  Exquisite writing from you my friend.  You are indeed shining brightly among the stars with this piece as "YOU" have found a way to thread the stars yourself.

What a wonderful flow Liz! You've not only threaded the stars, but woven a beautiful vision of love within these words. Excellent piece!

Best wishes,

OH LIZ..this is DIVINE ...EXQUISITE ...EXCEPTIONAL
this is indeed breathtaking ...
and the whole premise of it...its conception ...
simply poetic perfection ...
poetic grace in every single perfectly chosen
word ...
and the imagery.... poetry in motion ...

"Even if you churned the sea into a wishing well"

now thats one of the coolest images I've ever read...
this is poerty at its finest and it comes as no surprise that I find it next to your name.
another one for my long list of Liz favs
this one was written in the heavens and fell thru the stars...
love you poet lady

Ah, Liz, You've done it again. This is a breathtaking poem of a lovers heart that knows a love so great and so pure. Love to you my friend.......Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

I say it seldom - so its impact (for me) retains its value: I can pay you no higher compliment than to say I wish I'd written it myself. I love every single word.

"thread the stars" is magnificent phrasing, oh Elizabeth, we appreciate you!

Evening Elizabeth,

A very touching love poem you have written. Your heart must be as tender, as the pen that you used to write this.
