Across oceans, across valleys
In deep forests, under skies
Children are born

Wonders of intimate love
Cries, so filled with joy
A mother's tears from pain
Worthwhile as little hands
Rosy feet move about, Life!

Some live on fighting
Some not so strong
Many, fighting to live decades
Many, not strong, no food to eat.

Progress and aid
To no avail, little stomachs
Never filled
A little life expires
One less to feed

What goes on in the minds
Of governments and banks
Are policies, better aimed
At profits for a few
While many children suffer

Precious little children
Or Precious little coins!
A fact of life is:
Never deny a child
The chance you had
The challenge
Too daunting.Heh!

Oh Daniel, this is excellant, absolutely a brilliant poem. Yes I love this, the choice between life and money, no contest as far as I'm concerned, life always first. Which of course is why I could never be a politician, and I'll never be rich. Well not with money, anyway, still I'd by far rather have a heart and a soul.
Very well written Daniel
Take care

JD~
An interesting and thoughtful write.
I believe that the world should be on a mission
to see every child goes to bed at night with a full tummy.

You phrased it so thoughtfully.

Marsha,
Thank you so much. I am so happy to see that there are many people like yourself that are concious of the wrongs of politics. May those little souls smile in Heaven as they see us fighting for their dignity.

Excellent read and especially the ending verse.  No better way to say it than straight out.  It is up to us to make sure that the dreams of our children have a chance at becoming reality as we nurture and support them with our hearts and rejoice in the "individualality" of each of them.

Paula,
Children have rights, very often the world over deny them their lives. Eyes of children in pain have to change into eyes of happiness, where love resides so they can in turn give in return.

Mark,
I am thrilled as usual to see your interest in my poems. I agree with you wholeheartedly, the world has to wake up from that nightmare. We have to put children first and foremost.

Daniel,

This was a great piece.  What a lesson you have reminded us of.  Children are our future and we should all do our part to care for them for one day, they will care for us.

Marge,
Thank you yet once again. The little ones are in need of our concerted efforts. If we let them down, we are letting humanity down.

Lone Wolf,
Point well taken, how many people out there forget the dying children. The lack of comfort many millions have is simply a failure of the developed nations.

Sea,
I know you care for the little ones, thank you for sharing your sentiments. You are a wonderful parent.
