I took a walk in the woods
to enjoy a spring time day,
and though I wasn't searching
many answers came my way.

I stopped by a babbling brook
in my reflection what did I see?
I saw someone proud and strong
it's true, that person was me.

I didn't see a reflection
of one scared and all alone,
nor was it the reflection of one
whose heart had turned to stone.

I saw a woman spreading her wings
she was more than ready to try,
she had finally drawn the strength
to spread her wings and fly.

On the wings of words our spirits fly, and our souls are free.

Spred your wings and fly to the clouds
Don't worry about the past or the pain
They will forever be lost in the crowds
As you take flight and grasp all your gain

Wonderful verse showing the commitment to yourself as you proudly where your colors and soar through the blue pages.

D, Mark, thank you both for the extremely kind comments.  Mark, I loved your verse.
I wrote this just a few short months ago right before I left a bad marriage, and right after I realized it was "Time for me to fly"  Again, thank you both.

GS,
I’m happy you’re on your feet and you’re ready to soar. Time heals all wounds, so go forward and release the past, ever more.

GentleSpirit~
This is a lovely image of hope emerging
on the wings of self-assuredness.
I like that !

fly Gentle Spirit
fly and be free
for in your reflection I'm sure that you saw
all the things that you truly can be. . .

Wonderful my friend. . .
