At the stroke of your soft hand
You close my eyes, it is the end
The tears on your cheeks
Need not be wiped
Love of my life
Goodbye.

In my eyes lives your smiles
I was the shine in your life
Picked you up in times of strife
Lost you, across the miles
Rested you on weary days
Comforting you in many ways

Freedom you cherished
I never stopped your need
My ache for your happiness
I never did reveal
The many tears I shed alone
Were just for you.

In your eyes, I saw pain
Need to wander, and disdain
I saw, a little girl
A teenager in need of love
In your eyes, I saw love
You gave me love and more

In those eyes, I saw trouble
Past gone so wrong
A child in need of love
That did not come
Until I held your hands
From the depths of despair

I am sorry, I had to leave
The happy days I did give
You now can relive
You are fine now
I would not have left
If I felt
You needed me more.
Goodbye, my wanderer
Goodbye, my love.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

What a wonderful verse filled with heartwrenching emotion.  Sometimes it hurts like "heck" to do what we must do out of love and knowing it is the right thing doesn't make it any easier.

Mark,
Thank you so very much. Doing what we do for love is rewarding when we see the smile on those who have been scarred by the ills of society. Lending a hand is all it takes to gain the trust of another human being. Your words are so comforting.

Sunshine,
Thank you kindly. Caring is very important, but caring to the fullness of seeing someone you love bounce back from the wells of despair is worth the effort of suffering in silence.

In reading this very special and obviously very personal poem, one can feel the tenderness of your concern, the sincerity of your words. Your first stanza, alone, in its own gentle voice, is enough to bring tears. Thank you.

Paula,
Your words brought tears to my eyes. So very thoughtful. Loving someone is not about just sharing it is all in the giving of your very whole.

Marge,
Thank you so very much. In love one is blind, in caring one is not selfish, and in giving one must go beyond pain.

More than anything I read in this the story
of giving all that you can...until there is
nothing more to give and knowing that you
both moved on...better for the time
you spent together...beautiful work Daniel
with a powerful message within your weave~

Very touching. I understand the pain of having to let go, but it's the one thing that does get better with time, so don't lose hope for tomorrow.

Irish Rose,
Your tears brought tears to me. The poet has to feel everything written, that feeling has to be demonstrated as close to the heart as can be. Appreciate your wonderful words.

How often to we get to know the truth behind love?

Most of the time we skip the sadness and spin webs of happiness and joyful emotion...

Makes you think sometimes...
