A child has come into my life
Her name is Thelma
By coincidence, so is my mothers

The Christian Childrens Fund
introduced Thelma to me

Roberto was my first from Ecuador
for twelve years
but now the time has come to say good bye
and wish him well..he is a young man now
and can fend for himself and his family
but he will still be in my prayers

Now it is time to choose
another little child
Thelma from Honderas
is my new little girl..
She is also five the same age
Roberto was when i first
looked into his big brown eyes

Thelma too has large brown eyes
her hair is long and
pulled back in a blue ribbon

I plan to send her poems
and maybe she will someday
write poetry too

so Thelma here is the poem
I am sending to you

Hello little Thelma
how do you do?
I am sending this poem
especially for you

They say you like to sing
play with dolls and dance
i am your new friend
lets take a chance..

Here is my photo for you to see
look into my eyes
you are special to me

Who knows maybe one day
we will meet
but until then
I hope my poems you will seek

I am your new friend
kissing you on your cheek.

A poem is never finished, only abandoned.

....Oh, Victoria....
What a compassionate person you are!!! This brought tears to my eyes, but ones that are happy just knowing there are loving people in the world to help the little ones who need it so.  Thank you for this poem, and Thelma is a very lucky little girl!

Many angels will be singing for you and Thelma tonight.  What a beautiful read and heart you have to reach out and touch what so many of us just ignore.  I am sure she is going to love the poem but most of all I believe she is going to love looking into your eyes.

Victoria~
A lovely write for a child of love.
She will be blessed for knowing you.
*Hugs* round your heart for your compassion.
