the treasured dream ... my mind (my stupid mind) surfaced this morning with such a brilliant dream of things in my future(?) or of things i've seen(?) to walk among the aged stones and chance upon The shining gem surely a dream would be the place where carpets of magic line the walls where even the grail of holy's fame is found with ease upon its call the room i enter is palatially set but every item has its buying price using bargain, barter, coins or notes patrons purchasing all but my find five beautiful books in fine slip covers a magnificent collection -- one of a kind the finest moroccan tanned cabernet leathers supple velum endpapers with golden threads a craftsman's masterpiece i hold in my hands i crack the first book and my eyes grow heavy upon the mirage of a philatelist's surreal vision mint postage breaking the volumes stiff levee zepplins of air mails cross front of my face special deliveries with engravings so clear bi-colored fancies stacked on their backs germany, russia, spain and france belgium, norway, japan and u.s. each more perfect then the next from around the world they were neatly assembled for me to find 'mongst a market of fleas every man has his never-found treasures this dream brought me closer to one such find one that remains so utterly unequalled one that remains so deeply in mind M.A. Miller 10.19.00 < !signature--> My calling before me, let quill be my offering; For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive. Mark...oh yes my most treasured possession is an original copy of THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS that I found at a yard sale...what a steal...I got it in a box of books I bought for a dollar...LOVED THIS Mark... |
