Let me fly, let me loose Let me go the way I choose Don't make me walk a minute in your shoes For I am grown now. Chorus: My child I'll not forgo it Though, your love is dear to me And though you may not know it It's ever clear to me Until you hurt and dare to show it You will always be a child to me. Let me go, let me try I've the wings so let me fly Let me soar so I can touch the sky For I am grown now Chorus Let me run and never falter Don't tie me to your halter Your tales don't turn my legs to water For I am grown now. Chorus Let me climb up with the eagles, Don't hold me with your legalese I'll not run through your steeples For I am grown now. Chorus Can I return to comfort all For the world has let me fall And I am standing not so tall And feeling small now.
